Workshop Notes
New nut slot heights: (0.58, 0.54, 0.57, 0.70, 0.60, 0.67). While new heights are a little on high side, I won’t shave the wood to reduce now we’ve eliminated the fret buzz issues. Not possible to solve pot scratchiness through cleaning. New Alpha 500k Split Shaft pots (Audio Taper) and a Sprague Orange Drop Capacitor .022uF have been installed as replacements. Resonant Peaks have changed after the pot and capacitor installs. The neck is now at 2.05KHz, and the bridge at 2.12KHz. Notes on the relative change here: "The upgrade to Alpha 500k pots and the 0.022uF Orange Drop capacitor has successfully 'opened up' the frequency response. Both pickups now exhibit higher resonant peaks compared to the stock measurements, resulting in improved clarity and reduced 'mud' under gain." This is up from 1.95KHz (neck) and 2.01Khz (bridge).
