The Biography

 Born in 2004 at the Harmony Musical Instruments factory in Chennai, India, this Jackson JS30DK Dinky is a purpose-built precision tool for the modern player. Wrapped in a striking Dark Metallic Blue finish over an Indian Cedro body, it weighs in at a highly balanced 3.65 Kg (8.05 lbs). The Maple neck features a comfortable Medium C profile that fills the hand without getting in the way, while the bolt-on construction provides that signature snappy attack.

The Engine Room Overhaul

When it hit the bench, the original electronics were muddy and unresponsive. We gutted and upgraded the engine room:

• Premium Components: Installed full-size Alpha 500k Audio Taper pots and a Sprague Orange Drop 0.022uF capacitor.
• Unleashed Frequencies: The tonal response has blown wide open. The neck pickup now screams with a 2.05kHz resonant peak, while the bridge bites hard at 2.12kHz.
• Sonic Profile: Gone is the high-gain "mud." This guitar now delivers aggressive, articulate clarity—perfect for tight Megadeth-style thrash riffs, searing 80s Van Halen tap-harmonics, or driving, modern progressive metal.

Condition & Professional Setup

There are a few honest cosmetic marks, including a chip on the headstock tip, some light swirl marks on the body, and superficial scratches on the rear of the neck. However, the playing surface is functionally perfect following a pro-level restoration:

• Fretwork: The jumbo frets have been meticulously levelled, crowned, and polished, leaving 75% of their lifespan with ample headroom.
• The Setup: Fully calibrated and dialled in with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Regular strings. It plays fast and low with zero fret buzz.
